In this project, it is to generate a new economic model in the tourism industry for Limbang as tourism will be the most significant part of development in future planning along with the support of the government. Currently, Limbang undergoes urban decline due to new development in the neighbouring country, which is the bridge that is bypass Limbang town.

 

Liburan Limbang will accommodate a new typology of entertainment facilities to the tourist as it becomes a part of the attraction and providing leisure activities, escapism and cultural involvement. Not only that, but it also enables economic gain through employment and community involvement in the tourism industry. With this community involvement, it too will help to preserve culture value to the local. At the same time, this will help to increase economic growth and avoid an urban decline in the coming future.

Liburan Limbang project is on a 5.3-acre site located besides Limbang outdoor stadium. It is built together with the stadium as the old building and stage of the stadium will be upgraded. It also changes the single function stadium into multi-function as it can help the stadium to be self-sustain. It will improve the surrounding environment of the town and as a part of giving the quality space to the community and soften the cityscape. Besides that, this also creates an advantage in tourism development where it becomes part of tourist attraction in town and adding some activities and programme to the tourist.

It consists of entertainment facilities which include indoor sport, clubs, bars/pubs, event space, cafes and live music venues. Besides that, it also offers a variety of eateries base on local cuisine and a business hub for the community to sell local craft and product. It also offer community organisation centre and workshop activities for local and tourist. Not only that, but it also provides ample parking for Liburan Limbang and Stadium during any event. The parking also can cater to visitor parking, especially from Brunei as in the town centre is lacking in the parking area. The design of Liburan Limbang will have a courtyard which will link different spaces in this development include the stadium. The courtyard also can be transformed into an event area for bazaar, live music concert and outdoor exhibition area.
